Problems in using public computer

Is it safe to use computers at public places like airports, cybercafes for making any kind of personal or financial transactions? This is a general question that arises in the mind of various people.

Generally, the public computers are available for all. They can use them in any way they want. Some details of the computer users are stored on the computers they use and that too without their knowledge. There are few outlaws which installs the spying applications on these public computers with an intention of stealing the passwords and other personal information. Because it is known to everyone that there is no privacy and security on the internet. Also, internet is assumed as a medium for stealing the sensitive information and identity of the computer users. The applications which are stored on such computers for the purpose of stealing the personal identity and other sensitive information are keyloggers, viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and other types of malicious codes.

The keylogger is an application which is used for recording the keystrokes. Whenever a user type using the keyboard, the keylogger application records and in some cases automatically e-mail the recorded keystrokes , which in actual is the information of the user to the person who have intentionally installed the application. Various security measures are taken for breaking down these security breaches. The security companies are providing various security applications like antivirus, best anti spyware, spyware cleaner internet security . These application try to block and prevent the actions taken by the malicious softwares.
